All you need to know about JNUEE 2025: Registration, Exam Date & Preparation Tips and more

Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE) has long been a great pathway for students seeking admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of India’s most prestigious institutions. Renowned for its competitive nature, the exam tests candidates on their subject expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

In a landmark decision by the Supreme Court of India, the admission process at JNU has undergone a major transformation. Students are now admitted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This change simplifies applications across multiple universities, making the process more transparent and merit-based while maintaining the rigorous standards JNU is known for. In this blog, we will discuss JNUEE, admission process, eligibility criteria, exam syllabus and pattern, etc.

Everything you need to know about JNUEE?

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE) is an important exam for admission to various postgraduate and research programs at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). However, in recent years, the admission process for undergraduate courses has undergone a significant change. In 2023, the Supreme Court of India ordered that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) be the standardized entrance exam for admission to undergraduate programs in central universities, including JNU. As a result, JNU will no longer conduct the JNUEE for undergraduate admissions, and candidates seeking admission to programs like BA and BSc must now appear for CUET instead.

Despite this change for undergraduate programs, the JNUEE will still be conducted for admission to postgraduate and research-level programs at JNU. This includes courses such as M.A., M.Sc., M.Tech, M.Phil, and Ph.D. The entrance exam for these programs will continue to be managed by the university, and candidates must follow the regular application process through JNU’s official website. Therefore, while the CUET has replaced JNUEE for undergraduate admissions, the traditional exam format remains intact for postgraduate and research admissions at JNU.
