How is the XAT Score Calculated?

To guarantee accuracy and impartiality, a systematic procedure is used to calculate the XAT score. The following is a detailed explanation:

  1. Raw Scores for Each Section:
    • 1 mark for every correct answer.
    • 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
    • 0.10 marks are deducted for more than 8 unattempted questions.
  2. Calculation of Overall Raw Score:
    • The sum of the raw scores from the sections on quantitative ability, decision-making, and verbal and logical ability.
  3. Exclusion of GK Section:
    • The overall percentile calculation does not take General Knowledge scores into account. Some institutes consider these separately when conducting interviews.
  4. Percentile Calculation:
    • Based on each candidate's performance, the total raw score is transformed into a percentile.
  5. Release of Results:
    • A comprehensive scorecard with sectional scores, percentiles, and the overall percentile is provided by XLRI.
