JEE Main 2025 Dress Code for Male & Female Candidates: What to wear?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued essential dress code requirements for applicants as the JEE Main 2025 exam draws near. The purpose of these guidelines is to guarantee a seamless examination process for both male and female examinees.

Candidates are urged to dress in seasonally appropriate, comfortable, and light attire. Some things, though, are expressly forbidden. Because they can make security checks more difficult, applicants of both sexes must refrain from donning metallic objects, jewellery, stoles, scarves, and headgear. Clothing that is heavy or dark is also discouraged.

The detailed guidelines related to the dress code will be printed on the JEE Main 2025 admit card, which is expected to be released on January 19, 2025. The National Testing Agency has organized the exam into two phases; the January session from January 22 to 30 January, 2025, and the April session which is expected to commence from April 1 to April 8, 2025.

Key Dress Code Rules

For Male Candidates:

  • Don't wear anything made of metal.
  • No headgear, including mufflers or caps.
  • Wear comfortable, light clothing.
  • Rings and bracelets are among the jewellery and accessories that are prohibited.
  • We don't allow shoes with thick soles.

For Female Candidates:

  • No dupattas, stoles, or scarves.
  • Metallic objects and jewellery are prohibited.
  • Comfy clothing and light are advised.
  • Accessories like bracelets, rings, and goggles should be avoided. 

Exam Day Guidelines

Aspirants are advised to keep themselves updated with the exam centre a day before the examination making sure to arrive on time. Aspirants are expected to reach the examination centre at least an hour before and bring all the essential documents including an admit card, passport-size photo, and an authentic photo ID. Failure to meet these conditions could lead to exam disqualification.

Electronic devices and cell phones are among the prohibited objects that are not allowed in the exam room. To preserve the integrity of the exam, the NTA will perform thorough frisking, including after any toilet breaks.

Items Prohibited in the Exam Hall

Candidates are counselled no longer to carry the subsequent:

  • Bags, wallets, or any non-public property.
  • Digital gadgets like cell telephones, calculators, or smartwatches.
  • Stationery gadgets apart from what is allowed (e.g., an obvious ballpoint pen).
  • Food and beverages (except for diabetic applicants, who may additionally carry essentials with prior approval).
